About the Longleaf Market

Residents of Longleaf started this market to support local & organic food businesses and have a regular place for the surrounding area to build community. Since most of the area was ranch land not too long ago, a fresh market seems like an appropriate community tradition to start. Come join us! We’re on Starkey Blvd., just off SR 54,  6 miles west of the Suncoast Parkway and 1 mile east of Little Road.  Our location is very easy to get to with lots of parking and room for the kids to run.

We’re getting ready to start the market’s second year and since moving to Thursday afternoons the market has been a strong draw in the community. We support local farms and food related businesses, focusing on fresh and organic whenever possible. Last year we averaged 12-15 vendors every Thursday afternoon and we expect to grow this year.

Most vendors are local food or farm related but we also feature activities to foster a healthy lifestyle. This includes activities for children and public service booths such as the Pasco County Health Department and the Florida Master Gardener.

The market draws from a wide area but most patrons are from Longleaf, Trinity and the neighboring West Pasco communities.  It’s a short walk or an easy drive. Regular market days on Thursday afternoons help form healthy habits of buying fresh, locally grown foods. The Longleaf Market also supports the Longleaf Downtown and community by adjusting our schedule to accommodate or reinforce community events.

As Tampa Bay’s first certified “green” community, Longleaf offers a great home for the market.  Market traffic helps the downtown businesses and the location at the front of Longleaf makes it convenient for both residents and patrons while having a very light footprint in the community. The values and habits the Longleaf Market promotes line up very well with the healthy community focused lifestyle of Longleaf residents.
